39.6 Watt (12 Amp) Non-Isolated DC-DC Converters

The SMT12F series of non-isolated DC-DC converters comprises two models, both capable of providing up to 12 amps output current. One model accepts a 2.97 to 3.63 Vdc input and provides an output that can be trimmed from 0.9 to 2.6 Vdc, the other accepts a 3.0 to 5.5 Vdc input and offers a 0.9 to 3.3 Vdc output. These wide output trim ranges accommodate a broad diversity of silicon power needs.

The converters have an exceptionally fast 300 amps/microsecond transient load response and require only the addition of a few ceramic capacitors to provide complete high performance point-of-load (POL) power solutions. Standard features include remote sense, remote On/Off, voltage margining and remote ‘power good’ indication. Current sharing versions of these converters are also available. Typical applications include network and communication processors, DSPs, FPGAs and ASICs. SMT12F series converters are small surface-mount modules with a 0.52 x 0.62 inch (13.5 x 16 mm) footprint and an installed height od just 0.3 inch (7.9 mm).
