The DS1600SPE is an ultra-high density power supply providing 35W per cubic inch in just 3.4 x 7.7 inches (86.3 x 196.5 mm) and 1U high. This form factor is significantly shorter than that of similarly rated earlier-generation power supplies — freeing up valuable system space — and is achieved by use of the latest power switching technology and high density component packaging techniques.

The customer had a unique configuration where they needed the power supply to provide a constant current for prolonged periods. Thanks to digital control, Artesyn engineers were able to rapidly modify the power supply behavior, avoid an extensive hardware change and meet the customer’s time-to-market demands.

The customer’s product is now being deployed by a major wireless communications carrier among many other end customers.

Immunoassay or biochemical testing is becoming more automated as hospitals and laboratories deal with increasing demands for blood analysis. Artesyn’s Intelligent VS (iVS) series configurable AC-DC power supply is being used in a next generation immunoassay system from one of the world’s largest providers of healthcare equipment. Their requirement for multiple outputs with some at non-standard voltages and a total power output of 4.5 kW and medical approval is exactly what the iVS series was designed for.

LED display controllers are often used to drive the massive screens at sporting events, entertainment venues and major cultural events. A leading display control solution provider selected Artesyn’s NPS40-M series open frame power supply for its reliability and cost-effectiveness.
